About me

I am Aly Grant, a Canine Remedial Massage Therapist offering hands-on muscle and soft tissue manipulation for rehabilitation, maintenance and athletic performance therapy for pet, show and competition dogs which is complementary to veterinary care. I am based in Creagorry on the Isle of Benbecula, Outer Hebrides, but I cover South and North Uist as well, visiting clients in the comfort of their own homes.

Training & Qualifications

Fully insured as a Canine Therapist with Balens Ltd.

Qualified and insured as a Photizo Vetcare red/infra-red light therapist.

Trained for 2.5 years with The Institute of Complementary Animal Therapies (ICAT) and The College of Animal Physiotherapy (TCAP).

Full practitioner member of The Association of Complementary Animal Therapies (ACAT), and The International Association of Animal Therapists (IAAT).

Qualified with Distinction in Canine Remedial Massage Therapy (Accredited Level 5 Practitioner Diploma) with The Institute of Complementary Animal Therapies (ICAT) March 2022.

Qualified with Distinction in Canine Sports Massage with The College of Animal Physiotherapy (TCAP) September 2021.

Accredited Level 3 Diploma in Canine Sciences with the Oxford Learning College.

Triple certified as a Canine First Aid Responder.

Certification in Canine Shelter and Rescue Care.

Certification in Canine Behaviour and Psychology.

Qualified in Reiki level 1 and Level 2 - I am a certified Reiki for Dogs Practitioner and am attuned to provide Distance Reiki.

Canine Arthritis Management (CAM) Advocate Level 1 practitioner : your dog's wellbeing consultant pre or post osteoarthritis diagnosis.

BSc degree in Zoology, MSc degree in Animal Parasitology and PhD in Animal Development.

Every year, in order to remain a full practitioner member of my regulatory bodies (IAAT & the ACAT), I have to continuously expand my knowledge and skills via a set minimum number of self-study hours comprised of CPD courses, webinars, book reviews, scientific literature referencing and more!  Continuous Professional Development ensures that I will always have the welfare and wellbeing of the animal in mind when treating your dog.
